  • Beautiful gardens tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. I just missed the early spring rhododendron but the late flowering bushes were beautiful. Lots of bushes and trees that I could not identify. I wish there were some identifying tags on the more exotic plants. Some downhill stepping stones might be a challenge for some people.
  • One of my favorite sanctuaries in the area. The admission price is reasonable, but if you are in the area with any frequency, a membership is well worth it, and pays for itself after two or three visits. The gardens are amazing, covering many styles of Japanese architecture and garden design. The path is a nice walk, at a little over 1 mile. Should take between 1 and 2 hours to make the circuit, but you are free to sit and meditate or just enjoy the views at any point. The museum houses some amazing treasures that capture the beauty of the Japanese aesthetic, and are well worth an additional hour or so to peruse. The restaurant is very good, and one of the better sushi places in the area. The gift shop is always fun, with many neat trinkets to bring Japan home with you, and while things can be pricey, members enjoy a discount.
  • Great afternoon activity for family, friends, or some alone time. The gardens are a beautiful spot for a nice nature walk. The trail is about a mile with waterfalls, hidden areas, and a great chance to see wildlife like birds, turtles, iguanas and butterflies. Admission can be a little bit pricey, but students may purchase a $40 year-long membership with which you can visit an unlimited amount of times. Always a nice spot to go on weekends, but the best time to go is early mornings on weekdays when it's most quiet.
  • beautiful. Really beautiful. Had cold water along the trail too, which was nice. Want time go back for a festival. Los of peaceful gardens, exotic lizards, beautiful plants. Museum was closed for renovation, so I want to come back to see that. Beautiful little gem.
  • Morikami is a delightful Japanese garden with an interesting history that adds to the charm. Spend a few hours here wandering about the lush greenery, beautiful ponds and lakes. Rest on a bench and contemplate a Japanese rock garden. Involve all your senses as you stroll by a waterfall with lovely scented flowers and a gurgling creek. Morikami renews the spirit and relaxes the mind.
