Customer service grapes, music, all of the above, a wonderful experience! Ask for Jessica, she's awesome!
We love being club members at this winery. Every quarter during the weekend for our wine pick-up, we are offered complimentary food pairing samples from local high end restaurants to try with our wine... read more »
We are club members and frequent visitors to Delaplane Cellars. We absolutely love the wine and the Virginia Sampler platter (three cheeses, sausage, grapes, chutney, plus their fabulous cellar bread)... read more »
The manager would not honor a free tasting coupon given to us by one of the servers because it had recently expired. Not too impressed with the lack of customer service since an expiration date is pretty arbitrary--it simply invites customers back. Manager was rude and unapologetic. There are too many wineries in NOVA to be so rude--not coming back.
A good mix of passion for wines and a juts mix of Falstaff and bonhomie. Wines are well done and offer a different POV and interpretation nicely between Left Bank and the lush CA types.
We joined Delaplane Cellars wine club several years ago and have never regretted our decision to do so. We believe many folks, who have criticized Delaplane in their reviews online, misunderstand Delaplane's concept to provide a peaceful, bucolic setting for wine lovers who want to avoid the wineries that cater to tour buses, limousines, and large groups of people who literally take over the wine tasting room. We have never had a bad experience at Delaplane and we always have been treated courteously and professionally by the staff. When we visit, we know it will not be a raucous scene because of Delaplane's policy concerning the prohibition of buses and limousines. It is well-published. We applaud it! And quite honestly, why would anyone bring young children to a winery? Thank you, Delaplane, for your concept and for your execution of the concept!
We love this place. We've been members of the Winemaker's club for about 5 years now and we try to make it out there at least once a quarter (we live in NOVA). Betsy and Jim have always been super friendly and go well out of their way to make our experience lovely. I'm kind of shocked that there are so many bad reviews. It kind of makes me think that these are folks trying to promote different wineries in the area since Delaplane, in my view, outclasses every winery in the region. Stop by. You won't be disappointed.
First off, this place is gorgeous. The service we received was amazing and the wines were delicious. The negatives - HOLY fruit flies. It was really hard to enjoy being in the tasting room as the fruit flies took over. We were constantly trying to dodge flies in our drinks and in our faces. They were out of the springlot which was disappointing. The positives - The service was great here. Everyone was kind and enthusiastic about the wine they were pouring. We brought some cheese and crackers, which we ate on the porch, although we were told that normally you cannot bring outside food in. Neither a positive or negative - They do not allow groups over 6.
