The village of Deerfield, is one of the most beautiful and best preserved in this part of the country. Meanwhile, we must always remember that this State with the Rhode Island is the heart of America's history. Here came the first settlers and from there began its entire modern history. This country Museum, preserves a series of dozens of homes and buildings, all perfectly preserved, restored and transformed into small museums, representing a unique glance, even through a visit along the Avenue main that runs through it. The houses are beautiful, with ancient portals and perfectly manicured gardens in front. Let us not forget that Halloween and holiday decorations are incumbent based pumpkins abound everywhere in choreography really scenic. At the Visitor centre you can book you a nice tour through the most significant homes and a costumed guide will tell you stories of bygone days of a past that for this people is the basis of national pride. The visit, which lasts a few hours, costa €13. Here the pilgrims arrived in the late 1600 's and after quickly off the premises Algonquins, through a series of wars, even if they tried to resist asking the help of the French who were located in southern Canada, profited These fertile land areas of the Connecticut River Valley, creating a thriving farming community that was one of the bases in the Constitution of the future country. Here are some of the oldest houses remaining of the period and rightfully so their conservation is very insightful and timely, since it represents the starting point of the American nation. I say they should be very impressive to get there during the annual fair, something very American, that around here know how to do it properly.View original -

Well worth the time and money to see! Rated a Gem by AAA, for good reasons. Attractive buildings and furnishings from the colonial and early American period, plenty of parking, great old trees changing into fall colors, well trained, helpful docents and guides at different homes and stations. We enjoyed a hearth cooking demonstration at the tavern and exploring the world of children from early America at another station. The silver display museum was dazzling. Overall, a gem, and a memorable place!

Really wonderful place. Beautiful houses in a charming old New England town. Best visited in the fall. House guides are really knowledgeable. Also take time to explore the area it's a beautiful part of Massachusetts.
-
Excellent place to take the family. The staff are knowledgeable and will answer questions. The family center, with it's games and projects, was a huge hit with our boys. Be prepared to walk and climb stairs. Also consider that not all houses are handicapped or stroller accessible.
