The beer was tasty. Please note, several other establishments around town sell the tap and canned versions. Service will be much more timely by going to Good Times Grill, Mabes, or T-Bocks for on tap.... read more »
My fiancee and I traveled from Michigan to the Quad Cities to visit some friends and figured it's only another 3 hours in the car to make it to Decorah. We had high expectations and TG did not disappoint! Every beer we sampled was amazing. However, we were really hoping to land some King Sue. Unfortunately, they had just sold out a couple days prior to our arrival. Our server, Jordyn actually went home after her shift and brought us two bottles from her own fridge at home! We are customers for life! Everyone there was great!
Love their beers and always enjoy getting up to Decorah. I am looking forward to the new brewery and hopefully a larger taproom with a wider selection available for people who make the trip.
I'm from Wisconsin originally, and have been spoiled by the wealth of beer history and micro brewing done in that state. When I moved to Iowa, I searched quite a while for a beer I could call "world class." Not to fault the brewers in the state, as I'd come to learn they were handcuffed by an archaic law for many, many years until just recently. Toppling Goliath might just have exactly what I was searching for. My favorite "everyday" drinking IPA is the Pseudo Sue, a nicely-hopped Citra offering which is smooth and kind, while lingering just the right amount of bitterness. The Dorothy's New World lager is a very solid offering as well. Stop in here for a fun time with the folks hanging out and enjoy the patio, games, comaraderie.
Always great beer with fun and interesting names! Great feel with awesome outdoor seating. The staple for vistors to try while passing through.
Great beer, interesting taproom, sort of a nicer college frat vibe. Great beer!
