  • At least when we were in August 2016 here. We could see not a single animal here. Otherwise you can see only a boardwalk in a river with green bushes, quite nice but the detour not really justifying. You do not necessarily need a suitable vehicle, our rear-driven Chrysler brought back quite well now and again 300 us, however it should be remembered that car not on unpaved roads may be moved, this is definitely here. So: Your own risk. For us the detour was not worth it.

  • There is truly a LOT of salt in DV. While walking out on most of it is generally frowned upon by the NPS, the Salt Creek boardwalk and beyond is a real treat. The sign says it's a half mile round trip...  read more »
  • Expected a lot more. I'm sure in spend and winter there's something but in July it was not worth the hot sun walk.
