  • Very good place to go and take the family to learn of the history of the area. As you walk up, it looks as if it is a old bank but it was a home. There is not "fee" for going in but they ask you make a donation in at least a certain amount but you can give more. As you walk around it tells you for the history of how deadwood and the surrounding areas started. Tells of things that happened all the way up to the late 80's and 90's. Had a good time with family.
  • Really enjoyed this museum. For a free will donation at the door, you get to see so much cool historical stuff. Three floors. Kids area has very unique and cool puzzles and games. The dinosaur was amazing!
  • Very interesting place. Great history. Be aware, however, that is not free entry. It's entry by donation and they tell you how much you "should" donate per person with someone standing there watching over you. They should just call it what it is. An admission charge.
  • Great museum. Even if you are not stopping as part of the pastport program I'd highly recommend it. Focuses on the history of the area as well as American history and culture. Has activities in the lower level that can challenge both kids and adults. Only saw 1 staff when I was there so it might he tricky to find someone if you have questions. Also has a small gift shop to buy stuff in
  • Very informative small museum. It looks like they are expanding as well. Wish the gift shop more unique items though.
