  • Best family vacation stop in SD! We camped for the night on the homestead and can attest to the excellent washroom accommodations! Much improved from the dugout and shanty days! Laura would be proud to see how they have kept her family's spirit alive.
  • Hands on.. Nice peaceful place. Cool to see a glimpse of the ingalls life....very helpful staff...
  • This place is amazing. I say this because they have the actual house the Ingalls family lived in. The house Laura was in between ages 12 and 18 when she got married. The history just oozes. The day I was there, was a day of field trips for schools, which meant they had lots of demonstrations. There was a covered wagon ride to the prarie school too. Although I didn't take that ride. They also have camping cabins that look like covered wagons. I thought 'oh I'll be here about 30 minutes" I was there for 2 hours.
  • I have been a LI fan since I was 4-5 years old. Her books are how I learned to read so for me, this trip/visit was a lifelong dream come true! I can't say enough good things about our overnight visit. The hubs and I stayed overnight in one of the covered wagons!! How exciting to know we were sleeping under the same sky, in the same area that the Ingalls family slept!! I would visit here every day if I could just because I love this time period and the Ingalls story so much!! The proprietor was so very friendly! I will go back with my granddaughter and my sisters!!
  • Not too bad. Don't plan on spending all day.
