  • The building is very new and nice. Great place to hang out and read. Not a lot of print options for as big of a building as they have there. But it seemed like a great place to find some books and...  more »

  • Brand new and amazing. Besides the usual, much digital, meeting and performance spaces. Light, relaxing, comfortable. Very "modern."  more »
  • I LOVE my/this branch here on Philadelphia Ave. I frequent this location multiple times a week, with or without my family. The book selection is well-rounded. At times, you may have to request a book and have it sent over, but it's an easy process. The children have a variety of activities and programs to do here on a daily basis. My children never want to leave, and they have computers and game consoles at home. It's a nice, mild, hang-out for kids after school. It's an information hub for the community. And it's a wonderful place to introduce a toddler to reading. If your not into books or video games, there are events that take place here as well; from cooking classes to musical or poetic jam sessions. Every season the Philadelphia Ave branch of Dayton Public Library entices my family into it's world and we are greatful.
  • I Attempted to use the fax machine but only had a five dollar bill and did not want a pocketful of quarters when I was finished so I asked for change. The library staff had five ones left but would not make change. This seems asinine: I am a library patron wishing to utilize library services that cost money and is reasonable would require change be made. And to be honest, I was going to spend three of those dollars on the fax which the library staff could’ve easily recovered from the fax machine coin box. This is an example of an employee incapable of thinking outside of the box and realizing what her purpose is: to provide service for the patrons of the library. I suppose in her mind she was saving those five dollars to use for other transactions and in that way I do feel as though I was possibly discriminated against. why was my transaction not worthy of having change available? She was so concerned to make sure that there was change available for other future transactions, but when the time came to use the resources, she greedily hoarded them.
  • I've visited several times. My favorite is the private rooms for a small group. You have just enough space for a meeting to spread out.
  • The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's an especially great place to go if you have children as their is something to do for teens, tweens and younger. They have gaming and a studio for tweens and teens and a very fun play area for little learners. The area for adults is nice too. They have a beautiful quiet room with a fire place where you can go to read or do work. And they are quick to assist you if you need help checking out a book, finding something, or suggesting programs you might like. Very great asset to the community. It's nice to see how many families and kids come after school to enjoy it.
  • My Daughter will be 3 in August. We've signed up for Little Champs. I can't say enough about the spacious play area and outside play area. The story times are great and the staff are more than helpful and give excellent advice for keeping kids into literacy. My Daughter is the most precious to me and as a father I can't find a better way to bond than at the Library.
