OK? So here is the deal. I was a chaperone for my kids 4th grade class here. It is a great place! Worth a trip. Now, for the other shoe. I grew up on an 800 acre farm. We got there around noon after..... more »
I cannot say enough good things about this working 1800’s farm!! My grandma and my aunt used to take my sister and I, plus all of our cousins to carriage hill at least once a week when it was weather permitting. They have since added new and improved buildings to the farm, but the old town charm/feel is still there and pleasant as ever. The penny candy store is the only one I know of around here, and if you go on the weekends all of the animals will be out. Along with a working blacksmith, woodworker, farm house, a couple barns, and horse/hayrides. They also have events from time to time throughout the year. Usually with the switching of seasons, and holidays. I’ve been being my boys here since they were born, so that would be 17 years. Soon we’ll have a new addition to the family, and I plan to carry on this little tradition for as long as I can. Hoping one day my boys will be bringing their children to the farm.
Great place to bring your family! It has a few days worth of entertainment bundled up here as long with some cool history! the animals always seem to be having a fun time and look like they are treated well. all though some of the goats tend to be a bit devilish sounding lol. I could walk around the park all day! they have some many trails and hidden features all around the park. I used to fish here quite a bit and it is a wonderful spot for kids to get into fishing! plenty of bluegills and bass loaded up inside the first big pond but there is also one a bit further back if you want to adventure a bit!
This is a nice farm to go to. Lots of horses and some farm animals along with nice trails and a small country store here. They offer horse rides for $30 a person. Last time I was here I was about 5 or 6 years old. It's been many years since I was here. Some things has changed but still a nice experience going here. I will be visiting a bit more now that the weather is very nice.
I love Carriage Hill. I’ve come here since I was a little, and nothing has changed (which I find so unique). It’s amazing to be able to walk through a place that’s frozen in history. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and there’s a variety of animals that you can get up close to and pet. There’s even an old fashioned penny candy store, which is the perfect treat to round out the trip. There’s a fun play area for kids set up as an old school house as well as a tiny kitchen to play in. Definitely spent hours of my life playing there! We even saw a baby bird in it’s nest in one of the outdoor house porches. Unique experiences to be had here!
I love this park! I often run back on the trails by the fishing ponds and I love just relaxing and I take in nature. I also love the farm side where you can visit the animals and pet them without having to pay an entry fee as other similar places are.
