  • Excellent farmer's market, open 3 days a week. The variety ranges from produce to meats and eggs to cooked food to arts and crafts. Open three days a week (Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday), but Saturday has the most vendors, including a local bison ranch. Friendly atmosphere; dogs are allowed if well behaved and people friendly. Free parking and easy access.
  • Great venue, lots of variety and every week there is something different as different fruits and veggies come into season. Prices are competitive with other markets and super markets, but the quality is unmatched anywhere around town. The food vendors have VASTLY improved the last couple years, which is a breath of fresh air for the quad cities food scene. The hours fit the times that local farmers can do it, which is just fine in my book. Very clean, and always fun to take out of town friends to as well!
  • Fresh breads and other things @ the deli. The Farmer's market is great sometimes a bit pricey. Kuhn's baked good are the best - all natural.
  • This is a well rounded farmers market with most vendors producing all their goods within the region. There are organics farms with in-season produce, grass fed beef, free-range organic chickens, honey, jams, etc. They also have many artisan and crafted items with obviously more choices in the summer months. That is what root cellars are for here in Iowa :) One caution, watch out for the sellers that have shipped in products if you are trying to eat local produce.
  • One star for the variety, two for the lively summer atmosphere, and another for the location. Lost one star for pricing and times open. This market gives me hope for the QC, which is typically a pretty slow, family centric, and practical area. The people actually come out at the market, and they are great to mingle with. The live music is not always good, but I give them huge accolades for the effort. The market is open only in summer, late spring and early fall. The best time to be there is from 9am to 11am on Saturday. After that, a lot of venders leave. They do not leave because of a lack of customers, they leave because they want to enjoy the weekend. Few people go on Sunday, and there are much fewer vendors, but I've always found that it is worth the trip when I had nothing else to do. I am from a state where local farmers markets are usually a huge bargain, which is typically a major draw. This market is not really a bargain. The prices you see here for produce are usually fairly equivalent to store prices, and the quality is not always equal. I think the local grocery stores by and large have the best meat and best prices. This is not to say the market is low quality so much as this is a recommendation for the local grocery stores. Sometimes you'll find a great produce deal at the market, and it is good to look around. The market has great bakers. The bread makers and the noodle vendor are awesome. I personally think a lot of the sweet baked goods are too sweet, but I am odd. I enjoy the novelty items and the art. This is a good place for gardeners and home decorators.
