  • My wife really wanted to get to Davenport in time to spend a couple of hours in the Figge Museum. Particularly she wanted to see "Portrait of Maquoketa". We were driving in from northern Indiana, so t...  read more »
  • We spent a few hours in this great museum. The exhibit they have right now about the town of Maquoqata is fabulous! Will be there till January. Don't miss it.
  • Yes, Davenport gives you world class art fro Rembrandt to Local artists. We missed the Wizard of Oz art work but the Portraits exhibit is just wild. Never saw anything like it. It's even hard to descr...  read more »
  • It's a beautiful facility! There're some wonderful pieces. The displays are great. I haven't taken any classes there, but attended some events--all quality. The gift shop is great, featuring items in every price bracket--something for everyone. The restaurant is open for lunch--lovely menu, great views of the riverfront. Stay and visit the exhibits after lunch. It makes for a great afternoon.
  • Nicely done. Fantastic for an art museum anywhere, it is scaled in size to better serve the region. As a long time member of the Art Institute of Chicago, I have enjoyed the Figge Art Museum on several occasions - and also became a member. The only disappointment is the lack of a restaurant or a coffee spot to re-energize and have full emersion with a day at the museum.
  • A lovely, well lit, open layout and broad range of artwork create an inviting setting for an afternoon's meditative perusal. Acoustically, it's not good for conversation. Whether that's accidental, or a means of ensuring quiet, is hard to say.
  • The museum is clean, it's got free admission, and the exhibits are always changing. I'm not much of an art enthusiast, but the exhibits were easy to appreciate, with the exception of a few pretentious modern art pieces (you know the kind, a canvas painted all black and simply titled, "Abstract Painting").
  • Gorgeous facility with impressive permanent collection and top notch traveling exhibits. And admission is free through September 2016.
