  • In the middle of the desert and when one is exhausted and hungry meets this friendly hostel that has a bit of all of a coffee shop, a restaurant, an ice cream parlour, a mini-market and regional products shop to liven up the hours of travel

  • We used to always stop in Dateland when we were much younger traveling with our parents. It was a place to stretch our legs and we always got to have a date shake (if we behaved!) On a recent trip to ...  read more »
  • This is really a great place to stop off for leg stretching (the Gift Shop has lots of stuff to look at, so we make the rounds), for a treat (Those shakes are a real treat ! Got a "Cactus Shake" today...  read more »
  • stopped there every time i went from sd to az. havent been since they renovated everything, but i loved the date shakes and the prickly pear shake!!
  • We saw this place in the middle of nowhere a few years ago but didn't stop.Being a fan of dates and having had a couple of delectable date shakes previously in L.A and Huntington Beach I was looking forward to having a crack at one here.So on this trip to Tucson we stopped and I bought a date shake. The woman behind the counter put way too much date mulch in my tasted sickly and way too sweet. If you are going to make a date shake then make it bloody properly and don't overdo the dates. We won't be stopping at this self proclaimed world famous date shake store again.Oh and bathrooms are clean......when you find them.
  • We love the date shakes and maybe only get to enjoy them once or twice a year when we pass through to San Diego, so my children, husband, and i were excited to see that the ice cream and shakes were open until 9pm via online as we arrived at 8:30. As we went up to order, to our deep disappointment we were told no more shakes tonight as they already cleaned the machine. If your not going to offer the shakes until you close please list that online.
  • best ever real organic shake i had in my life cant resist it whenever i hang around arizona coming from kuwait i really miss it
  • Cool place to stop when traveling from San Diego to Phoenix. There is a Subway, date icecream & date shakes as well as souvenirs. Give the date shake a try, its not bad, but very sweet. Also check out the real date trees behind the building.
