  • Such a cool town! You can see all of the history in the buildings and the fort. You can also visit one of the AMAZING restaurants in the area. Tons of really good seafood options. But they can be really packed on the weekends, so definitely call before you get there, if you can. Small town with a lot to do and see :)
  • My wife and I visited here on a getaway trip and we thoroughly enjoyed this reconstruction of the first English settlement in Georgia. The museum has a video that gives an overview of the basic history of the area. A park employee often gives an engaging and interesting demonstration of the early 18th century British soldier's gun presentation in uniform. The 1721 fort has been reconstructed with block house, palisades, canons, and most of the other minor buildings. The nineteenth-century inhabitants of the area constructed a sawmill and the ruins are visible as well. If you're interested in early colonial history you will not want to miss this fascinating park.
  • Great historical site. Very well done recreation. Be careful with the time of year because the sand gnats are swarming at certain times of year. They were when we went in spring.
  • Awesome reconstruction of the fort and plenty of learning material.
