  • We had a wonderful family holiday. Loved staying in the RV. It was nice and close to the park, very clean and fully equipped with what we needed (two bedroom areas, a bathroom, eating area and the fire pit outside of course). The laser show reminds me of when I was a kid, brings back a lot of memories which was enjoyable for me to experience it with my own two kids now. I also love how my girls are able to go on so many rides (not just in the kiddie section) as they're only 2.5 and 5. It makes it more fun when they can enjoy more. We really appreciated being given the exchange deal where we were given the breakfast buffet for free both mornings as well as a $100 in park credit, considering we're Canadian and the trip cost us more (thanks to our dollar), so that deal definitely helped us out and made it feasible to go! We are looking forward to our next visit next summer.
  • Good overall campground and great experience -have been there half dozen times over the past few years. Great store well stocked on site, bathrooms kept clean. One site we had kept having a sewage smell and was beside a manhole/pit and smell was strong at times (could be sealed off better to keep vapours in). Picnic tables could be better managed or more of them in general - I find I have to hunt down and bring a table from an empty site upon arrival. Even though there is a great theme park on site, there could be a few kids play structures in the campground area for times when young kids need to play in and around the campground while parents are getting meals ready, etc.
  • Parking is so easy: close to the park gates and lots of it. Entry fees are VERY reasonable. With one ticket you can ride roller coasters and go into the water park. The park is not as big as a Six Flags park, but the nice part is, it isn't as crowded either. A long line will be about 15 minutes, the water park lines will be a little longer on a hot day like when we went. I'm a roller coaster fanatic and have to say they have a great selection of coasters. The older wooden one is a bit rough, but it is fast. All the others are very modern and fun. I highly suggest getting on the Ride of Steel and Viper, at a minimum. As with all other theme parks the food, drinks, and gift store items are priced high, however, the food selection is huge. It isn't just hamburgers and hot dogs. I recommend the Italian restaurant for dinner. Even their wine selection is great.
  • Nice park, very friendly employees..... the none stop sound of geese and trains going buy was a little annoying.... but not as annoying as the site near us with 8 kids screaming and laughing and playing all night long. There is a quiet time so your neighbors can sleep, there's just no enforcing it. The random fire works?? (gun shots??) At 7am wasn't the best either. Not really a place for people that enjoy actual camping. More for people who want to go to the park but can't afford the hotel.
  • To whom it may concern, I was very pleased with our trip to Darien lake. A big improvement since the last time i was there which was about 5 years ago. The park was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had a 4 yr old and a 5 yr old wit me and of course they had a blast but I was impressed as to the amount of rides they were able to ride on. Ones I remember as a kid of never getting to ride until i was a lot older. So i really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be returning again. If not this year than definitely multiple times next year. Thanks
