  • We went to visit on a Tuesday, the hint, don't pay the entry, pay as much as you want and if you want. We visited the place of butterflies, cute, they get loose and almost land on folks! After we walked through the gardens very well looked after! We love!!

  • Texas Discovery Garden was a small gem and I loved it! Our group of pre-teen to teens loved looking at the insects in the lobby. A small selection of creepy crawlies that are worth checking out. First...  more »
  • My daughter and I had a good time at the Texas Discovery Gardens. We went on a humid day but there were plenty of shades to cool down. We brought food and had a little picnic under the shade. This pla...  more »

  • "I cannot even begin to describe the amazing service at Texas discovery Gardens with Carron of Sugar City Sweets! My dream wedding was created in my budget and it was incredible. We got over the top customer service, so much attention and detail with our wedding and I was so pleased with everything. Carson listened to my ideas, my goals and my dreams for the feel of the wedding and then she went above and beyond to make it happen. I wasn't given a cookie cutter package with preset flowers and cake, I was given an amazing customized experience that removed the need for a huge list of vendors and we couldn't have loved it more. This was truly a one stop shop type of experience. I would definitely recommend them for weddings and I know I will most likely work with them for more events in the future too! I think this is the best kept wedding venue in Dallas!
  • This place was really neat. They're open year round. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Ask about their year pass pack. The gift shop is cool. I came for a friend's party and the kids loved it. The butterfly garden is incredible! They had a lot of interesting critters too. They have many special events throughout the year.
  • Lots of pretty butterflies! Good areas for taking pictures. Got eaten up outside in the garden I suggest wearing some bug spray at least on your feet. There is a nice area to picnic or just let kids run.
  • Came here by accident, and I absolutely loved it. Very cool place, great for picnics and for family pictures. The butterfly room is great (kept humid to accommodate the critters that live there).
  • It was a nice place, needs a lizard exhibit. But my daughter really liked the butterfly garden and the snakes

Where to stay in Dallas

Though the downtown area offers more high-end accommodations, the heaviest concentration of hotels in Dallas is in the northern part of the city. Staying in this area while on holiday allows you to choose from a range of affordable and comfortable lodgings just a short drive from the city's major attractions. Depending on the purpose of your visit, you may find it more convenient to stay close to the airport or near the city's amusement parks. A budget-friendly alternative, the northern suburbs offer decent accommodations and plenty of shops and restaurants.
