They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes wonders of the underwater world at Dallas World Aquarium. Located in Dallas’ historic district, the aquarium and zoo complex features eight themed exhibits dedicated to education and the preservation of endangered animals and sea creatures. Wander through the tropical rainforest exhibit for a chance to see exotic birds, Orinoco crocodiles, and three-toed sloths, or get up close to dozens of sharks, rays, and sawfish at the Mundo Maya exhibit. Check the aquarium’s website for the daily schedule to attend a feeding with your favorite animal. • You will see interesting things in this "aquarium", which is rather a bird/turtle/monkey/fish zoo. Tropics forest environment is great However alleys are very narrow (1.5m wide) and any fat person, baby car or picture taking person will create a "traffic" jam. You'll spend more time queueing than actually seeing animals. Don't expect to get a relaxed time there, it's noisy and stressful. One of the worst so-called "aquariums" I've see so far.
  • The habitat maintenance is commendable and the exhibits almost feel worth the money, but the place is so cramped and the animals/birds/fish are kept in such tiny spaces, it feels guilty to be seeing them there. A crocodile we saw was kept is a place so small s/he didn't even have enough space to turn around. Our 7 year old enjoyed the trip and couldn't get enough of it, especially the anaconda. But I'm not supporting this by visiting them again.
  • If you go early in the morning, you will beat the rush after lunch. I have been twice. It's a treat, but like others have said, don't expect an aquarium like say Monterey aquarium or Atlanta. It's a terrific place to stroll through and if you like birds and monkeys, you can get some great photos. It's cool, but humid, and it gets a bit crowded in places. If you are claustrophobic, be forewarned there is an underwater tunnel (amazing though it is) that might get your heart racing. Parking is $10 on top of the entrance fee.
  • The overall experience was pretty decent. There were some negatives and positives. Pros: Pretty large facility with lots of different species to look at Right downtown and around lots of other things to do Giant Shark Aquarium is pretty impressive Sort of Zoo like with Monkeys/Birds etc Cons: There was about a 1/4 mile long line(not exaggerating) just to pay to get in. Once in you have to stay in a line through a good portion of the aquarium before you can break off into different areas. Pretty standard price for an aquarium, but its still pretty steep Overall worth the wait and I would probably go back if I was in Dallas. I cant remember what day I went on, but next time I would make sure it was during the week.
  • Awesome place! There are many species, from birds to fish and water mammals. Also, you can walk through a submarine tunnel, where you can see lots of middle to small-sized sharks. Totally worth the visit. Plan to spend between 3 to 5 hours there. Great attraction to go if it's raining.
