Cotton Bowl Stadium is an outdoor stadium in Dallas, Texas, south central United States, opening in 1930 at the site of the State Fair of Texas. Concerts or other events using a stage allow the playing field to be used for additional spectators. The Cotton Bowl was the longtime home of the annual college football post-season bowl game known as the Cotton Bowl Classic, for which the stadium is named. Starting on New Year's Day 1937, it hosted the first 63 editions of the game, through January 2009; the game was moved to AT&T Stadium in Arlington in January 2010.The stadium has been home to many football teams over the years, including: SMU Mustangs (NCAA), Dallas Cowboys (NFL; 1960–1971), Dallas Texans (NFL) (1952), Dallas Texans (AFL; 1960 - 1962), and soccer teams, the Dallas Tornado (NASL; 1967 - 1968), and FC Dallas (the Dallas Burn before 2005) (Major League Soccer; 1996 - 2002, 2004 - 2005). It was also one of the nine venues used for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

  • We go to the Texas-ou game at the stadium. The concession stands are crowded and old. The bathrooms need a remodel. The big screen in the end zone is very small and hard to distinguish the numbers and...  more »

  • When I went to the coliseum to watch arena football, I found out it was next door and had to stand in the parking lot. A beautiful old stadium with years of tradition this will always be the ONLY Cotton bowl. it was a honor to stand just in the parking lot and take pictures. if you are a college football fan you have to at least set foot on the grounds. Amazing cathedral to one of college footballs greatest traditions. It was worth it
  • Hookem’ Horns...what a spectacular place to be on rivalry weekend. You have football as well as the Texas State Fair...had a blast...hope to be back again next season!
  • Original home of the Dallas Cowboys. Bob Lilly, Bob hayes, Don Meredith. Mel Renfro. Let's not forget head coach Tom Landry.
  • The venue has history and was built for people from the past that were 5'8" or shorter. I'm 6'2" and my knees wouldn't fit. Sight lines were great from our seats in section 8 though and concessions were cheaper than the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA
  • I go every year to TX/OU game. Could not be a better place to experience a football game. Atmosphere, amazing. Very crowded however.
