  • Went up there on a Saturday to poke around. It truly is a fun museum and history center, packed with tons of pictures and original artwork. The folks at the welcome desk were warm and inviting and helped direct us to the galleries and their locations. So may original pictures of world famous African-Americans including: Barry Gordy, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Malcom X, Dr. King, Nina Simone and tons of others. I recommend spending a few hours here and taking a look at the wonderful artifacts that celebrate African-American history in the Dallas area.
  • Had the best time at the Jazz Festival!! Lots of great artists the whole evening. It was really nice to sit in the park and enjoy the music and talk to great people.
  • A definite gem. I came for an event and will return for the excellence in exposition.
  • We've been to this museum many times and they always have temporary exhibits that are educational. Be prepared to be challenged in respect to your understanding of race in America and tragic events that are a part of our common history and our common struggle for justice in our society as we move forward.
  • This is a smaller museum compared to some of the others in Dallas. What I like is that they often have a display of local art. I visited when they were showcasing art from local middle and high schools.
