  • Absolutely stunning! History is told and displayed in a factual, not in you face attitude, way. It displays all races moving our Country in the right direction and up to its nomenclature "the Greatest...  more »

  • December marked my second visit to this new museum. I went with a couple of friends and my Mom. We went late morning on a weekday so it was not too crowded. The first comment I have is that this is a ...  more »

  • Great place to visit, very informative and interesting. I learned a lot about the history of Dallas that surprised me. There are kiosks with video of people from the area explaining how life was for them growing up before, during and just after the civil rights movement that is something everyone should learn about. The folk art is beautiful, and there are artifacts for viewing, dug up from a cemetery that unfortunately was partially paved over with Lemmon Ave and a freeway. This history is important for everyone to know.
  • It was a nice event room for a 90 year old Birthday party.
  • Great venue to display your cultural angle. Had a blast hosting my Father's 63rd Honorary Event there. Will host another event there June 2017.
  • Went up there on a Saturday to poke around. It truly is a fun museum and history center, packed with tons of pictures and original artwork. The folks at the welcome desk were warm and inviting and helped direct us to the galleries and their locations. So may original pictures of world famous African-Americans including: Barry Gordy, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Malcom X, Dr. King, Nina Simone and tons of others. I recommend spending a few hours here and taking a look at the wonderful artifacts that celebrate African-American history in the Dallas area.
  • Had the best time at the Jazz Festival!! Lots of great artists the whole evening. It was really nice to sit in the park and enjoy the music and talk to great people.
