  • I must start by telling you we did not know about the gold rush in Georgia (1828)! But, did we learn a lot....incredible. The Gold Museum is located in the former Courthouse building (c 1836) in the m...  read more »
  • Great place to start you trip to Dahlonega. Learn the history of the town and history of the first gold rush. great for kids and adults.
  • This is a decent tour for smaller children and maybe a date, but it may be a little low key and history based for teens. The site is in the center of the square and convenient to all the shops and res...  read more »
  • Wonderful "beach town" with no beach in sight. We really want to like it here with a laid back atmosphere and incredible vineyard selections. Great food, awesome hikes on trails and waterfalls. Unfortunately it's marred by horrible local drivers. Half the roads don't even have posted speed limits. But many of the locals, from law enforcement to local residents, the mailman, even the owners of the cabins we rented from, tailgated without any thought towards visitors simply trying to find their way. Please improve the driving experience - we'd love to come back
  • Dahlonega is one of my absolute favorite places to go! The history is amazing, and the Gold Museum allows you to see all types of gold, and how it was mined. Celebrating the first gold rush, anyone interested in the subjects mentioned above should be just as delighted as I am whenever I have the pleasure of getting to go there myself!
  • Interesting material, good for what it is. Seemed a bit pricey considering the sparseness of what you can actually see. The video was well done though.
  • Worth a visit for the history buff
  • Dahlonega is a wonderful day out! Visit the museum, walk around the town, pan for gold and enjoy wonderful food! A very memorable trip. Highly recommended.
