I'd driven by this zoo numerous times over the years. I decided to take my 21-month-old grandson about a month ago. Today was our second visit. I expect we will be regulars. We brought along a couple ...  more »

This was a unique zoo experience. The animals seem very well cared for and I especially like that you can buy corn kernels for a quarter to toss to them.  more »

We enjoyed another wonderful visit to this beautiful animal sanctuary! It's been a little over a year since my wife and I visited and this time we had a multi-family vacation in the mountains and decided to bring everyone by. So much seems to have changed and definitely for the better! Several new additions and the walk layout was different. Such a beautiful place that is growing and bettering itself for the sake of the amazing animals that are residing here. We all had a great time! My wife and I shared a small snicker when we passed one of the buildings that we experienced hearing some more than "interesting" people noises coming from on our last visit while up here in the mountains for our anniversary! Luckily all was "pg" this time since we had some little ones tagging along.--Very glad to see so much progress between visits and so many new renovations and additions. We look forward to visiting again in the future and definitely will share this beautiful place with our friends!

May 2017 My husband and I went to Chestatee Wildlife Zoo and did the animal encounter “Breakfast with the Big Cats”. This was the best animal experience of my life. You get WAY up close and personal with many animals and get to feed several of them as well. The staff was extremely friendly and they answered all of our questions and we never felt rushed. We got up close and personal with lions, tigers, jaguars, bear cub, alligators, wolves and more. It was expensive but so worth every penny and all for a good cause as the money goes directly toward the care of the animals.

I visited the park on a class field trip and it was great. The animals were all active and looked well fed. My class is doing a project where we are helping the park get more visitors, but there were very few things to fix because the park was so great. I loved how the Zebras would run with each other and play. I have read a few reviews that have said that the park was trash, but it is not. This preserve is a great place for the animals to live and thrive. Also I have seen some reviews that were written even though this person hasn't even visited the park. Their animal show was fantastic and I loved Pogo the cockatoo. So please come and visit the park and don't listen to the other people because they don't know what they are talking about.

I honestly loved it. It was really fun there running around and looking at all the AMAZING animals. I loved getting pecked by the birds as they ate the dried corn off my hand. It was one of the best field trips I've been in. the reason why I put a 3 star is, because I tried asking a question, but the guy just ignored me, and just sent me away. It was pretty frustrating, because that question was pretty crucial to our project we were working on. Another reason why I put a 3 star is because the snakes were in such small cages, it would have been a bit better if it had a larger one.

I recently went to the preserve for a school field trip and it was amazing. This wildlife sanctuary has 90% rescued animals and it is a non-profit organization. Some cages may look small, but they are actually bigger than the government allows them. These animals are being kept in a nice, safe environment with plenty of food and water. Did you know if you dance in front of the parakeet it would dance along with you? There are so many wonderful things about the preserve that I learned and it was a great experience to attend. Also the baby bear was the cutest thing ever!! :)
