#1 of 115 in Wildlife in Ohio
Visit rare and endangered animals in a natural, outdoor setting at The Wilds. The safari park and conservation center houses animals from around the world like rhinos, giraffes, bison, camels, cheetahs, and other uncommon creatures. The park aims to promote conservation through education and personal experiences with the animals. The nearly 4,000 hectare (10,000 acre) park includes a birding station, and butterfly habitat, and a 10 hectare (27 acre) Carnivore Conservation Center. Over 24 km (15 mi) of mountain biking and hiking trails wind through the park, and it contains more than 150 lakes. Take the basic safari tour to learn about the endangered animals from a knowledgeable guide, or try a tour with one of the park's staff members who will take you through their day-to-day work with the animals. • Wonderful experience seeing the animals roam free. We took the pickup truck ride where we got to feed and pet some animals. Great experience and fun. Very educational. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. We did this twice and second time stayed in a Yerk Highly recommended if you enjoy animals and want hands on adventure
  • The wild is one of the most interesting places we've ever been. Many wild animals that you don't get to see very often. We went on a tour and it was interesting because it rained buckets but we still continue to tour.there are tours you can go on where you can actually feed the animals we chose not to do that. The gift shop was fun and had nice things in it.
  • Always a great time! The employees are obviously passionate about what they do and they're very knowledgeable about the animals. The tours are exciting and each time is different! I highly recommend a season pass, trust me, it's worth it! My nieces love to go with me and it's always a blast! Makes for a great daycation!
  • This is a place I would like to work or volunteer. It is a dream place. I stayed at The Wilds in one of their Yurts. What a great experience. My morning shower while listening to the animals set the whole morning on a positive note. A short walk from my Yurt to the dining area for breakfast on a perfect summer morning was a gift. The safari in an open air bus with sun, heat and dust made you feel like you were in Africa. Everything was a plus here!
  • Such an unknown gem in Ohio that needs to be recognized! You can zip line, horseback ride and take small tours to get up close with the animals. Awesome for all ages and the tour guides are seriously awesome !!
