Not a great place to go unless you have a boat or some other water-sport craft. But the views are pretty amazing! I couldn't find any great hiking/walking trails though.
This is one of the best campgrounds in the U.S. Crooked River has a view of Mt. Jefferson and the top of the cliffs. Eagles, hawks, quail, rabbits and deer. Rock formations are amazing. Post piles of basalt all along the cliffs, twisted horizontally and vertically. The camp is new, has great grassy, shaded sites, all paved and level. Water and electricity in crooked River camp but the best design and cleanest dump station in any park of the 200+ parks we've camped in. Water in the Crooked River camp was great. The Apple trees and lilacs are going crazy with blossoms. Smells great this spring. The bathrooms are new and have family showers. Excellent idea too. Thank you Oregon Park System. You did yourselves proud.
Because it's where I spent all my summers from the time I can remember !!
Beautiful area. Wish I had a boat or jetski to go out on the water to have more fun though.
Beautiful views! There's no wonder they call it Oregon's Grand Canyon! Great hiking, camping and watersports available, they even have boat rentals available at the park entry.
