  • My kiddos and I went here in 2012 and stayed three nights. We loved driving the mining roads looking for old headframes from the mining boom days! The cabin was exactly like it would have been in the ...  more »
  • The best part about a trip to the Last Chance Mine is the drive leaving here. The place is terribly run down and the owner is the rudest and most uneducated person you will ever meet in your lifetime....  more »
  • This is as authentic an experience that anyone will get when visiting the true historically significant towns of Colorado. Our kids were excited to go, and tired when done - but really enjoyed how muc...  more »
  • We had two excellent visits to Last Chance Mine this year. We came with the entire family including kids. On the second visit we got to see the inside of the mine and under the expert guidance of Jack and his staff got a first hand view of what mining was really like here. This was the most fascinating, hands-on and matter of fact mining tour I have ever been to. I learned a ton and left with deep respect for the miners of the past and present. Most highly recommended !!!
  • Has been amazing. Jack is sincerely dedicated to his restoration of the old buildings. He will accomplish as much as possible. I'm partial because I'm the woman in his life now. I see his loyalty to LCM. I encourage anyone in this area to stop by and see for themselves. Check out his hard work, jewelry or just leave a donation if you beleive in preservation of our mining history.
  • The staff was so rude we didn't even stick around to see anything. We definitely won't be back.
  • Great mine and mission. Staff was very helpful and friendly when we went last year. Hopefully we can make it up before fall this year - worth a revisit.
  • For those of you wonder(like I was myself) last chance mine is still not open to tour the inside of the mine as of 8/3/15. We were here last year and told it would be up by this year. We were told by an intern working there that they are a few weeks out from opening. Hoping to get the tour next year.
