  • Beautiful area. It was very hot and sunny. Make sure to bring a pop shade tent or shoe up early to claim a table in the shade. It's a little bit of a hike down to the water and I highly recommend some sort of water shoes, there are rocks and sticks in the water. The temperature of the water was nice and the kids had a blast swimming.
  • This is a very nicely setup state park. The sites have water and electric -- there is a dump station. The sites are long (some up to 90'), wide and spacious. Grass and lots of trees, but the trees are well trimmed preventing any problems. The campground and facilities are clean and well maintained. Plenty of things to do - hiking, biking, boating, swimming and a fun playground for kids. There is also a fish hatchery nearby worth visiting - Cole M. Rivers Hatchery. Crater Lake is approximately 45 minutes away, but it is a very scenic and easy drive. Definitely a good choice when visting Crater Lake. We camped here in a 40' fifthwheel.
  • If you want an amazing day out on the water. This is the place to go. Lost Creek Lake is large and there is plenty of room for all. 2 floating docks to play on and floating bathrooms as well. Love this place
  • Great place to spend the night in your car. Decent bathrooms and 24 hr security.
  • Great campground. Lots of hiking near by. Swimming area is ok. Great for boaters.

Where to stay in Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake National Park operates two campgrounds inside of the park: Mazama Campground, which offers reservations, and Lost Creek Campground, which functions on a first-come, first-served basis. The park also offers accommodations in Crater Lake Lodge and Mazama Village Cabins, with the former open from mid-May through mid-October and the latter open from late May until early October. The park's isolated location limits accommodation options outside its boundaries, but you can find a few campgrounds, inns, and bed and breakfasts in the surrounding communities. Some of these are clustered in the town of Fort Klamath, just south of the park's entrance.
