  • My wife, sister-in-law and I decided to check out this museum while we were in the Covington area. I'm glad we did. It's a good place to learn about the local history. There is a little bit of everyth...  more »
  • We found this to be an interesting, albeit, out-of-the-way, museum. Lots of interesting exhibits to see and there is a good train set-up during the holidays.  more »
  • The summer concert series kicked off with cool jazz and promises a good season with good food and drinks. The Thursday night series lasts about 2 hours and is a good way to celebrate summer and not be...  more »

  • Best place for little ones. If you need to get out of the house during the long winter so your kids don't go crazy or you for that mater this is a great place, Prices are low and there is so much for the kids to do also educational the way a educational attraction should be.
  • This is a wonderful local history museum. It has great content, friendly staff, and is family friendly. My two daughters and I visited on Smithsonian's Free Museum Day. I enjoy history and enjoyed reading a number of signs and displays covering various aspects of local history. My children were fascinated by some of the exhibits (the model city and trains on the first level were a highlight), but especially by the child-friendly activities to be found on each floor. I was quite impressed that each floor had at least one area for young children to play and interact with the theme of the area (i.e. train table, or fishing from a boat). My only complaint on the family friendly aspect is that the third floor men's room did not have a changing table. I didn't visit the restroom on the first floor to know if it had one. After going through the building we enjoyed visiting the small playground adjacent to the building. I was told that it was always free to visit. With free parking in the Museum's lot I know we'll be back to the playground for sure, and we'll also go inside to see the Museum's exhibits again.
  • Definitely a diamond in the rough. We had no idea this place existed, but it was fantastic for our toddler. So many things to play with and touch. The road has a few twists and turns, so you may want to be aware of people who get motion sick. But overall a great place to go.
  • Outstanding friday night concert series.
  • 4 levels of interesting history from Northern KY. Ellis Crawford, curator for many years, helped make it what has become - a staple visit each Christmas for the train displays, and through the year especially with the new outside play area for no charge.
