Horseshoe Council Bluffs is a casino and former greyhound racing track in Council Bluffs, Iowa, near Omaha, Nebraska. It is owned by Vici Properties and operated by Caesars Entertainment. It has 60,000 sq ft (5,600 m2) of gaming space with 1,438 slot machines, 63 table games, a William Hill racebook, and a WSOP poker room. Accommodations are offered at an adjoining Hilton Garden Inn, and the nearby Country Inns & Suites, Holiday Inn Express and SpringHill Suites.

The Horseshoe holds the World Series of Poker Circuit Event during August of each calendar year, and the Horseshoe Poker Championships (HPC) during February in each year in their poker room.

Bluffs Run Greyhound Park opened in 1986. In March 1995, slot machines were added and the property became Bluffs Run Casino. Harveys Casino Resorts bought the property in 1999 for $165 million. Harrah's Entertainment (now Caesars Entertainment) acquired Harveys in 2001. In 2006, Harrah's completed an $85-million expansion and renovation of the casino and rebranded it as Horseshoe Council Bluffs. Greyhound racing ended in 2015. On October 6, 2017, ownership of the property was transferred to Vici Properties as part of a corporate spin-off, and it was leased back to Caesars Entertainment.

  • It's getting a bit old, but that doesn't bother me a bit because they have a lot of the old fashioned 3 & 5 reel slot machines. Plenty of the video slots too if that's what you prefer. I just have one gripe, there's a cafe that says open 24 hours, but it was closed in the wee hours of the morning...we were starved! I'm not sure why casinos aren't offering food 24 hours a day like they used to. Covid is over people.
  • We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn next door. So the casino right next door was pretty convenient. The hotel was average. Nothing exceptional. Had a lot of maintenance issues with our room. I appreciate that there was smoking in the casino still. The security staff were professional and friendly. I didn't get offered one single drink though. I hardly hit any bonuses. The place was pretty busy on the weekend. Almost hard to find a machine to play. This casino didn't pay out hardly anything.
  • Stayed at Hilton, part of charter trip. To horseshoe. Been there many times, but this time it was very hard to hit any slot, or bonuses. Something changed. The casino was extremely dirty. Lots of ash trays full on slot machines, beer bottles all over. The room is nothing spectacular. The staff was always courtesy. Exceptional service at the 360 restaurant, our server Laura was excellent. We had no problem getting drinks.
  • I've played casinos all over the country and this is hands down the worst in every way. The workers are rude and too full of their own importance; you can't get food after 10 pm but you can't bring it in from outside so you're out of luck from 10pm to 11am. And then the slots are the tightest I've found anywhere. Basically there's nothing good about the place.
  • For the last month, the handsanitizers have been empty. You think with Covid they would consider the health of others. Seems like there getting lazier by the minute. I come here every night cause I like the sports betting. At least that pays me, not like the slot machines. Get it together Horseshoe!!!!
