O'Bannon Woods State Park is located near Leavenworth, Crawford County, Indiana, 32 miles (51 km) west of Louisville, KY.O'Bannon Woods was originally known as the Wyandotte Woods State Recreation Area, which was part of the Harrison-Crawford State Forest. Its main attraction is Wyandotte Caves, which contains over fifty miles of underground caverns and one of the world's largest underground "mountains". The Blue River runs through the park. Indiana DNR lists it as one of their "Seven Hidden Jewels".The park was named for former governor Frank O'Bannon and houses the O'Bannon Woods Interpretive Center, which offers exhibits and nature programs year round.

  • We just went camping at O'Bannon over Memorial Day weekend 2017. The new playground is complete. The pool is nice. The entire family had a great weekend.  more »
  • The campsites are right on top of each other. They crammed to many campsites into this area. If you like horses it's great, but many of the trails are covered in horse stuff. Most of the kids run wild...  more »
  • Lots of nice campsites at the campground. If you have horses, they have a specific area for camping with horses. No camp store near though. Closest store is about 15 min away.  more »

  • Nice shady campground. Electric hookup only. Busy on weekends, but nice and quiet during the week. Beautiful pool and splash area. Great trails. Hike, bike, and horse. Picnic areas, fishing lake. Ranger Bob and his staff do a great job!
  • Phenomenal place for anyone! The Nature Center is worth the time, especially for families. Wonderful staff, great amenities and incredible sites/views.
  • Great park. Lots of hiking and mountain biking trails. Some of the best in the states hands down.
  • Great place, I walked the creek bed by the primitive horse camp and it was beautiful. I saw multiple natural springs and awesome rock formations.
