Texas State Aquarium, Corpus Christi
(3.9/5 based on 1,500+ reviews on the web)
Texas State Aquarium, home to more than 330 animal species, hosts animal shows and educational programs as part of its mission as an animal rehabilitation facility. Many animals arrive here ill or hurt, receive treatment, and then are sent back into the wild. Peek in on many kinds of water critters, from jellyfish, eels, and crabs to stingrays--some of which you can pet--sharks, and dolphins. You'll also meet turtles, birds, frogs, and other animals. Ask about the dolphin presentations, too. Texas State Aquarium is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Corpus Christi Edition.

  • Fun for a half day adventure. Dolphin and bird shows are worth watching. Looking forward to the exhibits opening in 2017.
  • Best part about the visit was feeding the stingrays, touching the jellyfish and sharks. Also loved watching the dolphins play. Kind of bad part was that this was a small aquarium. I wish there were mo...  more »
  • Can't understand the negative reviews. Where else could you feed stingray and stroke sharks. All staff very knowledgeable. Beautifully presented and sparklingly clean. Don't miss the demonstrations an...  more »

  • The Texas State Aquarium is the coolest place in Corpus Christi!!! Watching the shows, seeing the exhibits and reading the details of the exhibits makes you learn so much. I love the aquarium and being a member is awesome. With my membership I am able to take friends and family to see the best part of Corpus Christi! My favorite thing about the aquarium is the sting ray touch and the new shark exhibit. If you love sharks, you'll LOVE the aquarium!
  • My initial thought coming up to this place was that it was huge but once inside it didn't seem very big at all. They had an aquarium with different fish and birds in the first room. A section to pet starfish, small sharks, and jellyfish. There were a few different rooms with multiple fish. They had about 4 to 5 dolphins which did a pretty great show. The dolphins were definitely my favorite. Outside you can view the gulf and the ship. They also have turtles, an eagle, and stingrays outside which you are allowed to feed. Not a bad place, and wasn't too crowded when we went. They have a coffee bar and gift shop.
  • Beautiful aquarium with top notch exhibits and great staff! They were very knowledgeable and welcoming of all my questions. Amazing visit and I hope to be able to visit again someday when the new building is finished!
  • I've traveled the country and this is easily one of my favorite aquariums. From the small pier feel to the access to many free amusements that are for charge at other aquariums. Everything from the interactive exhibits to the water park all for free. I buy a membership every year!
  • Great Aquarium! Took my 3 (almost 4) year old daughter and she loved walking through the exhibits. We went during the day on a Monday so it wasn't packed with people. They are building a huge addition on to the building for new exhibits.
