Texas State Aquarium, home to more than 330 animal species, hosts animal shows and educational programs as part of its mission as an animal rehabilitation facility. Many animals arrive here ill or hurt, receive treatment, and then are sent back into the wild. Peek in on many kinds of water critters, from jellyfish, eels, and crabs to stingrays--some of which you can pet--sharks, and dolphins. You'll also meet turtles, birds, frogs, and other animals. Ask about the dolphin presentations, too. Texas State Aquarium is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Corpus Christi Edition.

  • Ok so I have only been to two aquariums now. Here and,yes this is kinda small but when we went today it was mostly under construction, so I feel like there was not alot to look at for the pr...  read more »
  • I think it was too small. But there were small compared to the show! Put on an exciting show, coming out of the briefing, birds show tortoise, etc. .. The children take a dip, too, so you can play when it comes to fun for kids!

  • Enoyed it. The dolphin show and otter show was cute. The tanks were a nice walk in the cool indoors.
  • This is by far the most fun aquarium I've ever been to! From dolphin shows bird shows and petting stingrays this is so much fun! You do have to pay for parking which is I think around $5. The aquarium may not have fun rides like the Downtown Houston aquarium but it is still very entertaining for all ages. The aquarium is having TONS of construction being done for the Carribean area and will open in 2017! Definitely recommend this aquarium.
  • We visited here on vacation and loved the interactive experiences with the different Marine life. Petting the Moon Jellyfish was definitely a neat experience that the adults and children alike really enjoyed, and the dolphin show was really fun and informative. The kids loved the splash pad! Make sure you bring plenty of spending money as food and drinks are pretty pricey, but most places like this are the same way and I'm sure it goes towards improvements and various programs. We would definitely visit again on our next trip here if more was added.
  • Came by here and did everything in about 3 hours. Dolphin show was quick and informative while they did their various tricks. Coolest part was probably feeding the stingrays. Standard aquarium stuff with lots of interactive exhibits that allow you to touch some of the marine wildlife. The museum is in the middle of an expansion that looks to make it closer to Moody Gardens in Galveston so that should be pretty nice once it opens.
  • As far as aquariums go, this has definitely been one of my favorite! It's split into indoor exhibits and outdoor exhibits, offering a nice contrast. Everything appeared to be pretty well-maintained, both inside and out. They're currently undergoing a massive expansion that will practically double their space. Of course your experience with the outdoor exhibits will be largely weather-dependent, they're definitely worth seeing. They do dolphin shows which can be viewed either from the outdoor seating area above the tank or from the underground indoor viewing area on the side of the tank. There's also a pretty great view of the bay from outside, and the Aquarium includes several touch-pools with stingrays and various other wildlife. The otters put on quite a show, as well! I thought the price was a bit steep at first, but after experiencing the aquarium, I'd say it's definitely worth it!
  • Great place to take kids. Lots of interesting exhibits and interesting things. Shows were fun. A little on the expensive side but worth it since you don't go often.
