  • Well, its a beach. Nothing special but good view and nice visitor center. Worth to visit if you are in the area, don't plan to spend a lot of time there.  more »
  • Get away from it all by making a relatively short drive from the city. This is one of our favorite places.  more »
  • Spend a few hours at the Malaquite Beah, forget the world. The beach is so big and far from civilization you can feel alone in the world. And according to the season when it's not too hot, you really feel like Adam in the middle of the marine world and birds. You can enjoy the smell, sounds better live in harmony with our planet.

  • Our first visit here, but it was a great experience. You can walk or drive to beach areas. They have bathrooms nearby, convenient. Overall, it was very nice.
  • We were lucky and were able to watch the release of 85 endangered sea turtle hatchlings into the sea. This was fantastic! If you visit padre it's definitely a must see event! Ranger Patrick and staff did awesome job and we even got to see baby hatchling up close! Highly recommend this event. It's definitely worth waking up early for. - T. Artru
  • “Beauty beyond Corpus” The beaches here are very clean. Beautiful to watch sunrises or sunsets. Great to just spend the day loafing around a very clean beach. There is a Visitor's Station there with some hands-on stuff for the kids, showers, and a quickie mart to replenish food and drink before the short trip back to Corpus. So worth the short drive.
  • So much fun here. Me and my family go boogie boarding all the time!
  • The Malaquite Beach tryPadre Island National Seashore is just amazing in the night especially with tiny crabs and turtles.... Wow. Lifetime experience. It was scary in the beginning after the darkness, but later we had a wonderful stay almost alone, only 3 of us. Need to be careful because there is no internet connection possible at all, not even a cell phone signal.

Where to stay in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi offers an array of lodging throughout the city. Seaside condos, hotels, and motels clustered around the northern point of North Padre Island and spread along Mustang Island offer views over the Gulf of Mexico, and you can also set up a tent or park an RV at one of the campgrounds on the latter. An additional cluster of hotels, motels, and cottages sits along the west side of Corpus Christi Bay, providing convenient access to both the water and many of the city's prime attractions. The numerous national-chain hotels and motels lining South Padre Island Drive serve as viable options if you plan to divide your time between the barrier islands and downtown.
