  • This the only beach that was very crowded. You need to pay $ 2,00 to go in the pier area. We've never seen so many people fishing one next to each other so we just left. Took some pictures and moved t...  more »

  • I loved this place. Close parking, soft sand, picnic tables and restaurant nearby. So wonderful 🤗. There is a lot of seaweed and a few jelly fish. I got stung for the first time! I was nervous at first but the redness went away when I got back to my hotel which was like 25 min away. I wish I would've known about this location first before going to other beaches and spend too much money. I highly recommend coming here. Excellent location!
  • Oceanfront access, lots of picnic tables, swimming & fishing
  • Busy but nice waves
  • Family friendly, you can bring your pets, picnic tables provided with a little shade. Seen some surfers too. The sand is soft and the water is not as nasty as Galveston. There are also outdoor showers and restrooms. When the sun goes down, you can dig a little fire pit and roast some s'mores. Great end to a perfect day.
  • We didn't want to fish, we just wanted to check out the pier and watch other people do what they do. There is a whole other subculture here and the experience for my kids and I was worth the entrance fee that we paid to get onto the pier. I can't remember exactly but probably cost the 3 of us around $20. We also were able to talk to a few people and their families. I think most of them were fishing for shark, anywhere from 4' to 6' long. They end up selling and sourcing out most of the shark so it is a living for most of them.

Where to stay in Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi offers an array of lodging throughout the city. Seaside condos, hotels, and motels clustered around the northern point of North Padre Island and spread along Mustang Island offer views over the Gulf of Mexico, and you can also set up a tent or park an RV at one of the campgrounds on the latter. An additional cluster of hotels, motels, and cottages sits along the west side of Corpus Christi Bay, providing convenient access to both the water and many of the city's prime attractions. The numerous national-chain hotels and motels lining South Padre Island Drive serve as viable options if you plan to divide your time between the barrier islands and downtown.
