Visiting Louis' house was an amazing experience. It's not some huge celebrity mansion, it's a fairly modest family house in a residential street, but every aspect inside was created by the Armstrong's for their comfort and it's a place that they obviously loved being. Louis Armstrong was undeniably the most influential musician of the last century and IMHO the greatest musician that this planet has ever produced. He was also a great and generous human being, even casually giving away the trumpet presented to him by the King of England, to a fellow trumpeter who admired it backstage! (that trumpet is now back in the house museum, having been donated by that trumpeters widow). The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable on the subject. This is a very, very special place and I can't wait to visit again when the new visitor centre opens in 2019!
An excellent find in Queens. Good value and informative tour. New exhibits coming soon. Worth to visit just to see a time-warp 1970s house, even better that Louis Armstrong lived here for over 30years.
Amazing house and story. One of a kind of museum I like to visit. I love the way Lucille Armstrong decorated their house 😍
Great tour guides, cool garden in the back open to the public, Just a fun experience in general. Lots of info about Armstrong's life. Highly recommended.
This house is fantastic in so many ways! The house itself is amazing! The kitchen!!! And the history of Armstrong and his wife is so interesting. Loved the guided tour.
