Whalehead Club was a historic hunting club located in Corolla, Currituck County, North Carolina. The clubhouse was built as a private hunting retreat on the grounds of the Lighthouse Club between 1922 and 1925. It consists of a three-story, five bay, central block flanked by lower blocks with screened in porches. All three blocks are capped by steep gable roofs with dormers. • Such a neat place. You are also right next to the Lighthouse so you can knock two sights out with one trip. Did not do the tour but I had a blast wandering around the grounds and reading the signage.
  • Our family did the 45 minute, self-guided tour. The entire family loved it. The kids and and adults loved the history and decor of this place.
  • We enjoyed our self-guided tour through whalehead club and the other displays on the same general property we're surprised that the whalehead club never was actually used as a Hunt club though it was designed to be used as such also there were many other Hunt clubs in the general area In addition to the whalehead club there is also a modern museum / theater on property as well as a historical village and a museum of many of the old boats used in the area We did pay a small fee to tour the wellhead club but the rest of the property was free although I think there may have been a fee to go up in the lighthouse if it were open
  • This was an amazing place to visit. The architecture and decor was beautiful. While Irene was a knowledgeable tour guide, she could have been more friendly.
  • Took the tour of the home. Takes about 45 minutes and takes you through the home. A very informative tour. Would reccomend.
