We saw a few horses 🐎. It was fun. We even saw some dolphin🐬 fins on the waves. I had a Hawaiian roller coaster ride 🎢 in my head when we rode over the road that was a roller coaster road. People keep building more houses in this area which stinks. 😟The guy at the desk at Bob's was able to put us with a male guide so I could hear and comprehend the guide better. Our guide was awesome. I let him know what my needs were and he was happy to accommodate and think of where it would be best for me to sit to see and hear him👁️👂. Our guide checked with me to make sure I could see him. I learned that another group was bringing their own ASL interpreter the next morning for their tour. I couldn't join them because their tour was full.
Sheila was an excellent guide (former park ranger) and really knows everything about Corolla and the horses. I was expecting to see an empty beach with herds running free along the beach, probably from something I’ve seen in movies. In reality I saw horses standing in the dunes along the beach and behind the dunes in a neighborhood. I had no idea there was a neighborhood behind the dunes. The horses literally have the freedom to go anywhere, including carports. You can drive yourself on the beach if you own a 4-wheel drive. However I highly recommend that you take this tour because they have the history and the story. I noticed that all your guides are in constant communication about where the horses are, so everyone gets plenty of picture opportunities.
Great experience! We had a large group (took up an entire truck) go on a wild horse tour and it was awesome. Our guide was friendly, found us a bunch of horses, and was focused on making our trip the best he could (even stopped to take a group photo on the beach for us). I recommend going later in the day, but definitely go with Bob's Wild Horse Tours!
Not exactly what I was expecting. I was under the impression that the horses were running wild on the beach. However, where we saw them were in the neighborhoods in the yards of residents where the horses were enjoying the greenery. We did see a couple on the beach on the return trip. Karen was a great driver and very informative. Cost was comparable to other tours. Riding on the beach was an experience. Would recommend Bob's Wild Horse Tours.
I was on a tour on July2,2022. Our tour guide did not warn us about anything except if loose your hat on paved road can’t retrieve. Only a few minutes into tour we experienced deep ruts and the truck bounced terribly resulting in a compression fracture of my T12. I was taken by ambulance off beach. While in the hospital I called to try and get accident report and insurance information before being discharged and leaving the state. No accident report filed and to this day Aug 5 th Bob White, the owner, has not given me any info. I was told by him a few weeks ago that he gave my information to his agent and they should get in touch with me and nothing. I’ve made numerous calls and Mr Bob White of Bobs Wild Horse Tours in Corolla No Carolina has not called me back or furnished the insurance information. I do not recommend this company or Bob White. I didn’t ask but you would think they would automatically refund me the money I paid for the tickets. Nope, never really did the tour
