  • The course is in such bad shape that the fairways are mostly dirt and weeds. If you are not on the fairway the chances of finding you ball are pretty slim. William in the pro shop was very personable ...  read more »
  • Bring extra balls or hit it straight, many holes offer no mercy. Greens are perfect condition and put very true. Slop is under rated in my opinion. Wednesday is Men's club day and can busy until 2PM.
  • Good golf on the Oregon coast! Pick a nice sunny day as it's pretty rainy here on and off! If sunny it's a real nice plae to enjoy good golf!
  • Great course. Be prepared to lose some balls. I would definitely play this course next time I am in Bandon.
  • Watson Ranch, formerly the Coos Bay Country Club, has all the potential in the world to be a great course. The track is beautiful. When the dust settles and the full staff is on board, Watson Ranch should be a golf destination. For my money, William, who runs the pro shop is the kind of representative I'd want assisting me. William is a true gentleman who loves his course. The course is far enough off the coast and high enough in elevation to miss much of the fog that may plague other courses. There is real potential here.
  • If you love elevation changes and playing a course that winds up, down and around this part of the Oregon Coast's foothills, this is the place. I found this course is best played leaving the driver in the bag and using a 3W for all but a couple T-shots. It rewards straight shots. Greens are small, fast, with plenty of slope and tiers to make up for the short yardages. The par 3s sit high above the greens with ponds between. Fun. Challenging from blues/whites. Beware of afternoon wind as I found out. Definitely a factor in some of the unprotected holes. Greens and fairways average condition for a muni being run on a tight budget. I got a discount by staying at the Mill Casino in town. William, in the club's little pro shop, was super helpful. So were Kathy and Cheryl, two locals who play the course several times a week. They kicked my butt. But also made this out-of-towner's first lap around Watson Ranch a pleasant one. Thanks all. I'll be back, girls!
  • I don't normally write reviews, but when the exceptional case comes along, good or bay, it's worth sharing. Unfortunately it's for the latter. I've played countless courses as far as New England and Florida, and played along side pros and never once have I encountered such despicable management. Hassling, arguing, accusing -beyond rude, and all of this in the midst of women and children during a fundraising event when the entire course was pre-paid for for the day! And this wasn't just my experience; other people I had talked to had similar encounters. This is no Bandon Dune's (or anywhere close to it), and in such a small town word will spread when you treat people like that. I will never personally go back and I would never recommend anyone to go either. We left with another 9 holes still to play. If you're looking for a nice place, don't go here.
  • Great time golfing here. Nice course.
