Shore Acres State Park, Coos Bay
(4.9/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Admire the wide array of gardens and flora on the grounds of a former pioneer estate at Shore Acres State Park, nestled along the forested edge of the Pacific Ocean. Visit the park and wander its 2 hectares (5 acres) of landscaped gardens, replete with both local and exotic plants and crisscrossed by numerous footpaths. Make your way to the Japanese-inspired lily pond area and pause for a peaceful moment of reflection. Head for the nearby sandstone cliffs to take in a sweeping view over the sea, complete with waves crashing powerfully against the rock below. Keep your eyes open and you may even spot the spout of a migratory gray whale. Put Shore Acres State Park into our Coos Bay trip itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • GO TO DESTINATION ON OREGON COAST!Cant express how amazing this place is!!! The care takers are an amazing crew. looks better every year. Different views and experience for every season. And don't forget the Christmas lighting! Nothing like it!
  • A must visit location, especially during the holiday season when the gardens are decorated with thousands of lights. The $5.00 entrance fee is a small price to pay for the opportunity to enjoy nature, plants, etc. The park's history is very interesting as well. Check it out if you are in the neighborhood.
  • Beautiful gardens! Have blooming flowers fro spring to fall. Rose gardens, formal gardens and a Japanese garden. Great place to take wedding photos or other special occasion photos.
  • Awesome piece of history here. Worth the visit if you are interested in local history, 1890 - current. Immaculate grounds to wander. $5.00 entry to the park. Well worth the price.
  • The rock formations here are simply amazing! nature is so awesome and has so much beauty!
