  • Sleepy Lion trail is a great loop. Good challenging climbs with a tree canopy above. So beautiful
  • I highly suggest Sleeping Lion hiking trail. While it offers somewhat stifled views, the exercise is well worth it. The most interesting part of the trail is Hyde Hall. I look forward to visiting when it is open. I believe they have tours.
  • Always my number one favorite area in Cooperstown. Great for birding enthusuasts and walkers/hikers. There are standard campsites, RV sites and primitive campsites as well. Reservations recommended but there are a few nonrrservabke sutes,on the primitive area. Be prepared with tick spray! Large beach and picnic area along with a Pavillion for parties and possibly a snack bar.
  • Had a great family day there. Weather was a little crazy but the staff was good about it.
  • A very fun place to visit any time of the year . In the summer you can camp at the Beaver Pond or at the R.V. Campsites , walk or what i do , bike on the trails . They have multiple trails to chose from . They have the Beaver Pond trail that connects to the road near the lake turnoff , the Sleeping Lion trail , which is a bit steep with roots so watch your step . I myself have never been to the top of the Sleeping Lion trail because the trail is to steep for my liking . They also have another trail that continues from the base of the S.L. trail ( I can't recall the name) that runs above the coast of the lake , goes down to the end then loops around . There is a magnificent viewing point a little past the S.L. trail which i believe is called " The Scenic Overlook " that looks over the lake , and you can also see the distant and historic Cooperstown . There is also swimming , which i found a pair of sunglasses ( will put image of sunglasses ) . Anyways where was I ... Ohh yeah , swimming , it is very helpful after a hour or two of biking the trails and roads , or just on a hot day . The concessions are good ( i like the burgers , with half the bottle of pepper , don't tell them ! ) . And now *drum roll* winter ! In the winter there is tubing , which is fun if you don't crash and hurt your arm ( like i did in 2015 - 2016 winter) . Don't forget , a frozen lake for whatever you want , ice skating , fishing or fun . That is pretty much my overly long review for Glimmerglass . Ohh the sunglasses , here they are !
