Where to stay in North Conway

North Conway can get quite busy, especially in summer and the peak foliage period during early fall, so you'll want to choose a place to stay that allows you to head into the surrounding area without driving through town. If you plan to visit attractions to the north, like the White Mountains, stay on the north side of town. For easier access to attractions like the Kancamagus Highway, stay on the south side. Whichever part of town you choose, you'll find a healthy selection of inns and bed and breakfasts in historical houses as well as locally owned hotels, full-service resorts, and vacation rentals.

  • I love it here. I was working in a summer camp and this was were I went for my day off. Its perfect!  more »
  • The ledges and mountains mirrored in the glassy lake as we walked around its beauty. We could see trails leading off, which we would like to explore during retinues visits. This must be a popular site...  more »
  • We were looking for somewhere close to where we were staying and not too strenuous. Lots of nice wide, flat trails. Peaceful and serene.  more »

  • Great hike in the summer or winter. The winter it is very quiet and peaceful with a beautiful view. The summer you can find families with packed lunches enjoying the warm lake water.
  • Great swimming! Usually warmer than the Saco.
  • My family visited for the first time this past weekend. We did a little hike and then spent the afternoon at the lake. It was beautiful. Clean and peaceful. My two boys had a blast swimming and finding tadpoles. The only reason I didn't give it a fifth star is because they don't have food vendors. We visit from out of state and can't easily pack lunch. All in all, we enjoyed the park and will return again next time we are in NH.
  • The climb was hard but the view was well worth it
  • The scenery here is beautiful. Gorgeous views of White Horse Ledge and Cathedral Ledge. There are lifeguards on duty, so feel safe swimming in the lake. There are nice walking trails in the area. It is an easy 1 mile around the lake and there is a mid level trail that heads up to the top of Cathedral Ledge. Overall, this is a great area to spend some time with the family on vacation.
