  • We had a wonderful tour of the house which was the residence of both Emerson and Hawthorne at different times in their lives. It was a wonderful education enhancing our understanding of both writers.

  • I recently attended a wedding here and have only been outside of the building but I loved it! It's set off a quiet road surrounded by nature. The building itself doesn't look large from the outside, but the grounds around it are expanse. There was enough space to set up a ceremony area, a tent for the reception, as well as a half dozen lawn games. The grounds appear to be tended to and the old brick fences are still standing. A beautiful rustic setting!
  • Beautiful spot, and I would rate 5 stars but there was one problem. There was a sculpture outside of the Old Manse that was supposed to reflect nature.... It was huge, bright yellow, and very modernistic. The inside of the house is beautiful, though.
  • This was a lovely place to visit in the summer with the kids. Very relaxed but spread out with easy trails to walk around and lots to see. Also a nice place to bring a picnic along and eat at one of the numerous benches along the historic sites.
  • Great/fascinating tour.
  • An American treasure nestled right next to one of the most momentous events of the american revolution (the north bridge)
