  • Beautiful store on Main St. in Concord. Main Street has undergone extensive refurbishing making it an appealing area to stroll and shop. Great selection, display racks, and signage. Coffee shop is available but I did not visit this area. Nice seating. Overall a nice environment. I found the staff to be less than helpful when I asked for assistance. No one offered to show me the options and I was given a vague hand wave and a 'what you see is what we've got'. I worked in an independent bookstore for 12 years and was always willing to go with the customer to show them what we had and to research the options if we did not have what they were looking for. I mistakenly stepped up to the counter to ask a question and was quickly admonished for going ahead of the nonexistent line. I just saw some people clustered back from the counter. Despite the orderly and varied offerings I will choose to shop elsewhere for my books and other gift items.
  • Eh. Not really all that impressed. You go to Books-a-Million to buy books to read. You go to Gibson's to buy books to be seen reading. The store isn't that big, and a lot of what's on the shelves is artsy, trendy or politically fashionable books lovingly curated from only the best and most fashionable bestseller lists. Now maybe that's what you're looking for, and if so, maybe you'll like Gibson's. But it's not my bookstore.
  • They're making the local, independent bookstore model work in the best ways. Great events, friendly and helpful staff, great selection of titles that are harder to find... And a great children's selection, too!
  • Helpful friendly staff. Answered all questions. Wide selection of books and genres. Has a cafe and a few places around the bookstore for reading. Has a nice children's book section with children's stuffed animals and toys for purchase.
  • Cute bookstore. Not enough time to explore . Will definitely be back. Also the food at the cafe inside was delicious, but on the slower side.
