  • Fabulous selection. Great discounts. Amazing hours. Our twelve year old stayed engaged for an hour! The people are incredibly nice. Take the map (and give it back when you are done)
  • Located in German Village, is a library of 32 different rooms full of books divided according to gender, definitely a place that you should visit, impossible not to impress you with such a large number and variety of books, you bought one anyway. It's exciting if you're a lover of books :)

  • Rooms upon rooms of beautiful books that can take you on so many beautiful adventures and teach you so much. Put down your Kindle, turn off your phone and forget to mention where you're going. Then wa...  read more »
  • I wish I could have spent a few hours here to properly explore. A wonderful book store that is a must- see if you are visiting even for a day. Competitive pricing and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere will ensure you leave this historic building with a sense of childish delight.
  • This is an amazing bookstore! It goes on and on, and just when you think you've seen all the rooms you'll find there are more! Almost every room had different music playing in it, which, along with the books gave it a unique vibe. The book collection is very diverse. I spent almost 2 hours here and could have spent many more!
  • Greatest book store ever. An awesome Columbus original. Their prices are certainly fair. Less than Barnes and noble. And many times they have books in interested in on "sale" tables out front. Either way, I go here for the experience. It's more fun to buy a book here than anywhere else.
  • Took 15 year old in to apply for job. Says on the website you have to be 15 to work there, also called in to confirm. When we arrived the lady at the counter was extremely rude for absolutely no reason. Raising her voice at a child, being very short, and treating us like 2nd class citizens. Very inappropriate to have a child's who suffers from anxiety have their first experience trying to make it in the working world to be such a let down. The excuse was "we need mature people with experience..." There's nothing mature about shouting at a 15 year old girl with mental issues. please address this issue or change your website. I will not be shopping here anymore and I will do everything in my power to prevent others from coming in as well.
  • Physical book stores still have a place, and that place is The Book Loft in Columbus Ohio's German village. So the prices may not compare to Amazon, but the serendipity of browsing in a physical space is worth the difference. This place is quirky, claustrophobic, and fun. They play music from boom-boxes set on the top shelf of most of the rooms (and there are a lot of little rooms). Lots of stairs and passage ways packed with collections of books. I found cool stuff that I would never have run across if I had to rely on the "similar items" lists online. Oh, and bonus, you can "peek inside" the entire book if you feel the urge! It must be hard going for this little independent book store, so visit before the owners throw in the towel and turn it into a chain restaurant.
