  • I was all about this place when it first opened up some years ago in Columbus. The artifacts are amazing (if you are a civil war history buff) and it is spacious. However years later I can notice not ...  read more »

  • We visited here a hot day and inside it was cool in both senses of the word. The temperature was refreshing as were the exhibits. The reclaimed CSS Jackson takes up a large display area and has a grea...  read more »
  • Historical exhibits relating to the river can be found at this museum. Also take a look at the "Water Witch" located just outside; it is a "full-scale ship replica".
  • Excellent, well maintained exhibits. We had a large group of 12 and arranged to fire the cannon outside, which was a great experience. There are some minor inaccuracies of the dates and events on some of the displays, but it only marginally takes away from the experience and unless you are a careful Civil War student, you might not even notice the mistakes. Plenty of space for public gatherings (e.g. military retirement or promotions, etc.).
  • It's a great museum with alot of good exhibits and many original artifacts
  • If you're in Columbus, this is a good place to go when you have a chance. It was very informative and neat to see all of the historical artifacts from the Civil War and learn more about Columbus during that time. The display of authentic Civil War flags once flown on the vessels was very great to see. They offer a military discounted admission, which is fitting being so close to Fort Benning.
  • Very cool life sized sets! My favorite was the USS Monitor set, it felt like a time bubble set in 1865!
