  • Very interesting and lots to see. Its also a place that you can take children. Things to see outside as well. Also a gift shop is there.

  • Self guided tour, with a phone number posted at certain intervals with a number to dial that gives an explanation to the exhibit. I really enjoyed this museum.
  • Very cool displays. Gives you real perspective of how things were. The hull of the ironclad was too cool.
  • Clean and amazing detail. Everyone should tour at least once. I do miss the realistic shooting gallery
  • Historical exhibits relating to the river can be found at this museum. Also take a look at the "Water Witch" located just outside; it is a "full-scale ship replica".
  • Excellent, well maintained exhibits. We had a large group of 12 and arranged to fire the cannon outside, which was a great experience. There are some minor inaccuracies of the dates and events on some of the displays, but it only marginally takes away from the experience and unless you are a careful Civil War student, you might not even notice the mistakes. Plenty of space for public gatherings (e.g. military retirement or promotions, etc.).
