Emphasizing the values of the United States military, National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center presents historical artifacts and multimedia exhibits from the American Revolution to the Afghan war. See one of the greatest collections of military pieces in the world, and meet the soldiers face to face. The museum strives to help people understand how and why one becomes a soldier. There is no favorite of this museum, it was packed with history and great exhibits start to finish. Well run, clean, just super super place to spend time. Visited many times and always see... more »
If you are a fan of history this would be a place for you. The museum was nice and easily accessible. Print on displays were large enough to see comfortably. It was a lot of fun and educational. more »
Please note coming home from Florida to Ohio made a planned stop in Columbus Ga to visit this museum. Drove there only to find it closed and no opening date. Very disappointed more »
This has to be one of the best museums I've been too. It's free but they do ask for a $5 donation. Museums like this in my area would charge at least $15. The scenes and mannequins are very lifelike. My husband and I spent three hours here and could have used more time. If I'm ever in the area again I would go again.
I am a veteran and I enjoy going to the infantry museum. They have a lot to see and the movie theater is a plus. The customer service is great and they are very helpful. It is a fairly large museum. They also have graduation ceremonies in the back on the the lawn area which is very nice. There is a hotel next door for visitors to stay when visiting. It is a very awesome attraction here in Columbus GA and I truly enjoy it.
I was very impressed how precise and how detailed they are about every war we had. I was very much impressed with the all the pics, maps , clothing, weaponry and detailed Information on the Korean War being that my dad was a Korean War Veteran. I have many family members that were in almost every war there was and still active in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thank for being so detailed.
The amount of detail and information they provide is astounding. This is the place I always recommend to people visiting to Columbus. It's completely free and really educational, great for kids and adults of all ages. They break the main exhibits into time periods for America and I've been more times than I can count. Hopefully you can catch it when they do a big event, tanks paratroopers, food, and reenactment actors and more can be found there.
Humbling experience, highly recommend. Plan on taking your time as you experience the incredible detailed historical information and carefully restored military weapons. You could easily spend a day if your into history. You can't help but get emotional as your reading what so many American young men & women gave to our great country paying the ultimate price so young. It definitely makes me appreciate all those that are currently serving like my son and so many other young people, but also all of our veterans. Thank you for serving our great USA ....This museum is really a special experience
