We were there discussing appearing in December. Beautiful Children's Museum with multiple areas for children to learn. Eddie is so cool. A two story boy children can enter into for fun things.
We recently visited Edventure in Columbia. This is a great children's museum in the capital. It is in a complex with the State museum and a few other attractions. The museum has tons of events and hos... read more »
For such a small city (relatively speaking), this is a very nice children's museum with a number of attractions. We've been visiting since our twins were older infants and they're now 7. We no longer ... read more »

This such a great kids friendly museum. Everything is hands on so the kids get such a treat out of it. My daughter loves climbing the fire truck, serving food in the grocery store (all pretend of course), and learning to be a builder in the blocks room. If your child is a tween, they are probably too old for this. My 12 year old was excited to go but decided he was too old when we got there. Of course, climbing through "Ed"'s body is a treat for the kids still. Your kids will love it.
We took our daughter to Edventure last weekend looking for a fun summer activity. Drove 1.5 hours to get there. Can't express how disappointed we were. At over $11 per ticket we certainly expected at the very least that most of the exhibits would work. How wrong we were. In fact most did not work. Some only partly worked, some not at all. There was a water related exhibit that had no working water! One exhibit consisted of various magnetic pipes to arrange and roll marbles through them. And, surprise! There were no marbles. This would have been a great place if things actually worked. As it is, I cannot recommend anyone wasting money or time at Edventure. My family will never return. I wonder where all the funding and admission fees go if nothing is maintained.
I honestly don't feel comfortable giving a 1-star rating. For those of you people who were thrilled with this dump, I'm confused to know what made it so spectacular. I don't even know where to begin... 90% of the activities were broken or too filthy to even touch. Also, I could only find one working sanitizer station, unacceptable! The only thing that the kid enjoyed was the crane. But with the lack of employee supervision some parents would just let their kids play on it as long as they wanted, so the "taking turns" rule doesn't apply at this place. You more or less have to tell other kids to move or just force your kid into place. I promise, it's rediculous! Also, I saw way too many parents sitting in the kids areas taking up the space just talking on their cell phones. THIS PLACE NEEDS MORE EMPLOYEE ENVOLVEMENT, just to move people along or monitor certain behavior, AND TO CLEAN!! The Critter Garden with the butterflies was neat but needed to be cleaned up as well... Water hoses just laying around, bags of plant clippings just sitting around. Oh and Body Detectives, who wants to play a giant Operation game that doesn't even work and is dirty, come on people. It's obvious that Edventure has the money to make the place cleaner and to make sure bad/unsupervised kids aren't destroying the exhibits. You need an employee at almost every lab or gallery. Everything at Edventure was interesting but when in the shape they were in, not fun. I'm not sure we will return until things have changed.
My family (of 4) visited the facility today, and was very disappointed. First off, the price is was to high for the condition of the attractions. Most of the centers were either not working, torn apart, very out-dated, or just plain dirty. There was no employees to be seen except the ticket counter. Most of the kids that we saw had no parent supervision. Kids were trampling over my 2 year old and no parent to reprimand them. Needless to say, we will not be returning! Unless, they have a MAJOR revision and some of these issues have been resolved. I was planning a field trip for my students, but seeing how it went today, no thanks!
This place has gone downhill. It's very filthy and several of the attractions are non functional. The Children's Museum of the Lowcountry in Charleston is 1/4 of the size and it way more fun and attractive. Don't recommend until an overhaul is done along with a deep clean.
