United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs

As you're driving toward this museum and military campus, the iconic accordion-shaped chapel will help you spot United States Air Force Academy. The campus, in a scenic area filled with Rocky Mountain fresh air, covers 7,500 hectares (18,500 acres) and is the place U.S. Air Force cadets start out. • What an absolutely stunning building! (Yeah, I'll confess, I only came here after seeing it in the new PS4 game Horizon: Zero Dawn). Made the experience even more special, seeing it in real-life. The place is immaculate, and people are very helpful. Take the tour, you won't regret it.
  • A beautiful place to visit and take pictures! Stay on the main floor for that. If you happen to be visiting for mass, the Catholic Church is in the basement. At the main entrance, take the steps down and the entrance is right there in front. I believe there are other Donominations on this floor as well but they are further back. In the Catholic Church there are restrooms and water at the very back near the entrance.
  • Amazing architecture. Truly beautiful place to worship. My favorite place in Colorado Springs.
  • A stunning building. You definitely need to take a tour and see all of the different chapels housed within. It is an absolutely stunning experience.
  • A cool place to go if you ever get the chance.

Where to stay in Colorado Springs

To experience the scenic beauty surrounding Colorado Springs while on holiday, consider staying at a resort just outside the city, offering sweeping views of the mountains plus access to championship golf courses, tennis courts, and spa/fitness facilities. You can also discover Colorado's great outdoors by pitching a tent at one of the area's many campgrounds, or by renting a cozy cottage or mountain cabin.  If you prefer to stay near downtown, consider a moderately priced inn or motel, located a short walk from the city's finest shops and restaurants.
