Create an itinerary including Glen Eyrie Castle
There are few places so rich in both history and spirit as Glen Eyrie! Originally constructed in the late 1800s by Civil War hero and founder of Colorado Springs General William Jackson Palmer, Glen Eyrie was a modern marvel for its day featuring both electrical power (supplied by its own power plant) and some of the first telephones installed in the West.

The Navigators were blessed with the purchase of Glen Eyrie in 1953 and have continued using the peaceful and beautiful grounds as a place of rest and rejuvenation for countless missionaries and honored guests like you.

  • What around the Castle grounds and explore, you won't be disappointed. Our favorite is finding the wild turkeys. They make the cutest noises.

  • Glen Eyrie is a wonderful place to visit. The grounds are beautiful and the castle is spectacular! They have group tours, morning and afternoon tea, great hiking trials and there is always a great event going on. We have never had a bad experience. You can stay the night in the castle as well. Great getaway spot for you and your spouse!
  • Castle in the middle of Colorado? Who knew! It's actually a very large manor home, but well- worth a visit. Tour guides are well-informed about family and local history as well as the building itself. Very interesting. And if you have time, DEFINITELY stay for the Afternoon Tea (book in advance).
  • We had a wonderful time at Glen Eyrie. We stayed at one of the lodges, and it felt remote and was very quiet. It was hard to believe that we were only a few minutes from the city. The scenery with the rock formations and the beautiful improvements to the property, the three deer running across the lawn right in front of us, not to mention the delicious breakfast in the castle in the morning all added up to a memorable stay. Even more impressive was the tour, with Lisa as our guide. Lisa was simply the perfect guide, knowing not just about how the castle came to be, but the history of the area, and all about founder, General William Jackson Palmer and his family. Lisa was so knowledgeable about the process of building the castle and showed us so many amazing inventions from General Palmer that were installed and used in the castle. The tour was one of the best we have ever been on and it was obvious that many people value their connection to the property.
  • One of the most interesting places to visit in Colorado Springs. Just north of Garden of the Gods. Built from imported materials by a turn of the century railroad owner Lots of native wildlife to be seen. Mountain goats. Wild turkeys. Bears. Impressive hiking trails with great views. A nice coffee bar where you can get your favorite latte. The food in the dining hall is tasty and well prepared. Various lodging on the property and you can stay in the castle if you like. An excellent place for a personal or group spiritual retreat.
  • Absolutely amazing! Amazing customer service. Amazing area. So serene. Peaceful. Beautiful. The place feels like it is prayed over. See deer, wild turkey, the beautiful red rocks. Wonderful place.
