Santa's Wonderland Reviews
We had heard this was an experience that we should have ticked off on our bucket list. Well all I did was be ticked off during most of the experience. Throughout my review, I humbly offer suggestions ... more »
This is the best Christmas village experience we’ve ever encountered. We go EVERY year! The kids love the bonfire in the courtyard and when the “snow” starts falling the kids are sooo excited! They ha... more »
I have been here before when the kids were small. For the money, the light show here is worth the trip up to College Station. This time, not so much, I paid to park in the Prancer parking lot x 2 cars... more »
Absolutely love Santa's Wonderland! It truly feels and looks like another world in there. The employees are so sweet and helpful as well. Food is AMAZING. There are endless things to do, from the Hayride, to watching movies on the giant screen while sitting by a fire pit, live music, and my favorite part, the snowfall! I love how this place keeps the spirit of Christmas alive! I will definitely be returning. Love it!
It was worth the drive from San Antonio and we definitely enjoyed the experience. We are glad we purchased/made reservations for the horse and carriage so we didn't have to wait for the hayride. Yes, we heard that line was about 1.5-2 hr wait for the hayride but it's a once a year attraction that's brings in people from everywhere so what do u expect. The food was good but pricey too but its just like the San Antonio stock show and rodeo and any other amusement park you go to. You need to have patience and be ready to stand in lines! Overall everything was great!!!
Everything was really nice, the food was good. Funnel cakes are always delicious, their hot coco was a hit with the kids, coffee with us. The lights on the hayride, of course is the real experience. My kids and myself included really enjoyed this. The nice fires lit up with the camp songs is really cool too. They had a show on children being true to Christmas and promising to share the spirit of Christmas. This was a great show, the audience seem to really enjoyed it also. My only con is the pricing, I received a discount on the entrance fee, due to it being after Christmas. 2 adults and 5 children, so I'm used to paying a lot. But in between food, entrance, and coco drinks, I still managed to pay over $300... other than that, this was a great experience, I would probably wait to come back a few years. Just cuase I can get more of a outing for that kind of money. I would definitely come back, this place is for sure a once in a life to must visit.
Thoughts on three consecutive years- Positives- We love whomever does all the amazing woodwork! It's worth getting there early just to see this in daylight! -We like the food and feel it's very fairly priced. We paid $25 for two meat plate, stuffed baked potato, 2 sodas and freshly made chips. We loved it, that's actually a good price and was plenty of food for 2 adults and 2 small kids. We also bought a bag of kettle corn for $5. We think food prices are fair and like everything we've had there. -Shuttle service was courteous and prompt on our visit -Love seeing continued growth of lights everywhere -Great band! Negatives- -Please hire another Santa or three for your busy nights!!! Seriously! By some small miracle we were first in line this year but when we got done, the wait was already two hours at 3 p.m. This could be prevented with more than one Santa and the kids won't know if they aren't all visible. -Put a cap on visitors during peak nights! It's insane and your facility can not handle the capacity of crowds you bring in!!! You reply to people to not base opinion on peak nights but your peak nights bring in the money and people aren't happy! Not just not happy but hurt as it's a pricey experience for most working families only to feel robbed of the experience they didn't even get! I think you've reached a point where you need to reach a "sell out" on peak nights! We left at 9 p.m. Saturday and people were still buying tickets and there is almost no way they could have made it to lights because the line was over 2 hours, probably 3 hours. -The sewage smell. Do NOT come with small kids on weekends!!!! It's too expensive for crowds involved. Listen to those that write reviews! Literally brings tears to my eyes at the nightmare it's placed on parents due to inability to actually experience a good night because of too many crowds. The prices for families are too expensive. Even on value nights. It's not worth the average $35 price per person to see lights, added to the fact it's so crowded one doesn't even get to enjoy the few things there. We actually have 5 children but only bring the two youngest as the cost for all of us just is outrageous for experience. We got to do the hayride, one 2 minute train ride and go down slide twice. I saw so many kids having meltdowns because they wanted to DO something but..lines...which could be prevented if crowds were limited.
My family and I went last night and we were very disappointed. This was not our first trip to the park. We went 3 years ago and had a wonderful time. This year the lines were outrageous! We waited 45 minutes for a 3 minute train ride...didn't realize it was that short while we were waiting in line. We didn't even attempt the hayride which was the main reason for going because that line would of been hours long and the park would close before we could even ride through. Waited 30 minutes for a hamburger and fries and every time we went to get cobbler there was always a 15 minute wait! Point is don't sell tickets to that many people if you can't actually accommodate them for everything you offer. Sorry but I won't be back in the future. Expensive waste of time with traveling and hotel cost added too.
