  • Put this on your bucket list!! This is an absolute must see. I have traveled extensively and have seen many beautiful places before but this place is absolutely glorious!!! I can't remember ever seein...  more »
  • Yes. Because Nice!, immense, because here you can enjoy great walks in direct contact with nature. No. Unfortunately too "close" to the paradise of Yellowstone, if you've seen and enjoyed our Dolomites or the Apennines, the Gran Sasso won't be too impressed.

  • Breathtaking beauty! This was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Yellowstone and the West. Absolutely stunning!!  more »

  • A remarkable place to see while out west!! So many nice places to spend quiet and peaceful time. We saw lots of wildlife - Black Bear, Moose, Deer, Fox, and multiple birds to name a few. Also the area itself is one of the prettiest out there in my opinion. Enjoy it!!!
  • This National Forest is just outside of Yellowstone and Grand Teton. It's one of the nicer areas to stay when the national parks get full. The Rangers here are very knowledgeable and will tell you honestly about how things work in the park. Would much rather go to a national forest instead of a national park after this experience
  • Got married there on 9/07 at the Wedding Tree. We even had a permit to be there and there were two tents at the site of my wedding. We moved slightly and carried on. It was beautiful but we had hoped for the Tree's specific beauty and backdrop. The forest is beautiful. Just a warning to those with wedding plans and a permit...might not matter, so be prepared for plan B!
  • Lots of fun roads to go on looking for wildlife - bring your 4-wheel drive! Nice moose territory!
  • Beautiful place more accessible than Yellowstone Park and it seems a little more natural. Yellowstone seems artificial at times and the Rangers are hyper-vigilant and overbearing in Yellowstone. The only place we saw a moose on this trip to the area. we were in Yellowstone for 4 days and saw wolves elk bison but moose we saw one the whole trip and that was on the Snake River in Bridger.

Where to stay in Cody

Cody may be a cowboy town, but its accommodations include everything from plush hotels to modern bed and breakfasts. For an ultimate "Wild West" experience, try to arrange a stay at a rustic mountain cabin or a working ranch just outside the city. If you wish to avoid the crowds or simply need more of your own space, reserve one of the city's Victorian rental homes. Cody's value motels allow you to stay more economically; they make up in mountain views what they lack in amenities.
