  • This was the first part of this museum complex we wanted to see and we are so glad we did it first. There is so much to see and admire and it took so much time. It was well worth it. The artifacts are...  more »
  • We had decided to do a "coast to coast" backwards, starting from Los Angeles to New Orleans with a zigzag path to see the heart of the American deep South, the sea of grass of the Great Plains through Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, kansas, Missouri etch ... We then got to Cody West exiting from Yellowstone. It was almost dark and find from sleep was a business. We had a "rib-eye" from half a kg, a liter of Miller and didn't sleep. There was only one Saloon, a couple of Old Jack and went off to dispose of walking down the Main Street. It seemed to be weighted on the set of Porki's. Pick up roaring with youngsters drunk on yelling I don't know what waving bottles of whisky. They went back and forth and disappeared as soon as they saw the police. A cross-section of a Saturday night in the province that I thought existed only in the movies. The next morning we visited the Museum and the House of William Cody, from which the town got its name. It was not the first native American Museum we saw but this I found to be above average, really comprehensive. In the shop of memorabilia there was for sale a magnificent hex barrel Winchester of 1882 that I did not buy, a mistake which I regret.
