  • This is a must stop. This is probably one of the best museum complexes we have ever been to. There are five (six?) parts to the museum and we couldn't see all of it. The Plains Indian Museum has some ...  more »
  • If you plan to go you must take the whole day to see it all. What a fantastic museum. I enjoyed every section of this place. I stopped half way through my day and had an excellent cup of chili and the...  more »
  • I highly recommend visiting this museum! I could have easily spent 2 full days here. Lots of displays and information. Very modern. Friendly staff too!

  • This place is AWESOME!!! You get two days for the admission but we were just going through and stopped in (which is hard to do since you want to spend more time there) so we didn't get to see everything. It's really 4 museums and they are good ones. My hubby salivated at the guns in the firearm museum and I really enjoyed the natural history and Buffalo Bill portions with the toddler in the complimentary stroller. It was so good that we are planning on going back on our next trip but this time we will stay in Cody and spend 2 days seeing everything. (Also, see the super beautiful garden in the center part. It is gorgeous.)
  • Incredible museum. Really five impressive museums in one. The firearm museum is probably the finest museum of its kind in the world. You could easily spend 2 days in this museum and not see everything. The natural history museum is the same calibre as a Smithsonian museum, but smaller. Ticket prices are good for two consecutive days. If you're within traveling distance consider a membership. Just a little more than tickets for the whole family but good for the whole year. Really a fascinating place. Worth a visit!
  • This place is a must see for any trip to Wyoming. The life of Buffalo Bill was a very fascinating one and you can't miss their firearms displays which are some of the best I've ever seen. I was brought here as a child and I've since brought my children here. This is one great museum.
  • As a former history curator, I have wanted to visit this museum complex for a many years and it did not dissapoint. World-class exhibitions in the Plains Indian Museum and Buffalo Bill Museum. Enjoyed the firearms collection although the interpretive elements are mostly technical and not aimed at a general audience. The art collection is also top-notch and well-presented. I especially enjoyed the sections on how artists played a role in the development and public perception of Yellowstone. I didnt have enough time to visit the natural history wing so cannot comment there. Our visit was 7 hrs including a break for lunch so you definitely need a full day to visit but not neccesarily 2 days. The gift shop had a great book section (in the back), but was rather lackluster otherwise. The restaurant was more like a snack bar/salad bar that seemed expensive and unappealing. We opted to walk 5 minutes down the street to MoJoe's cafe which had better options.
  • The finest museum I have ever been too, the museum was set up very well and the firearm section is so nice, it is out of this world. Plan a full day to see it all and plan two days if you really want to take it all in. Very clean and the staff was wonderful.
