  • I have been here several times over the past several decades and it’s always interesting, never crowded. It’s manned by volunteers. Pretty decent place for a small local museum.  more »
  • This a great place for preschool aged children. I loved the beautiful shells and information about dinosaurs. It was "Dino Day" when we went, and my girls fell in love with the blow-up dinosaur walkin...  more »
  • We have 3 small kids they all enjoyed all the different things they have to look at. It's not a huge place but it's not really small. We will definitely be going back soon.  more »

  • We love this museum. Onsite parking, restrooms available, handicap accessible, and it is free to get in unless you want to make a donation. There is so much cool stuff to see in here. Lots of shells, animals, and dinos as well as cultural items and gems. Definitely worth a visit!
  • I love it, kids age, 1 and 2, are interested in dinousours, fish, and little small things. They have a play area, and are doing a certain play time, for all kids call them to verify the day and time. Works to meet other sahm
  • I'd have given them 5 stars if not for their schedule (they could open earlier & all)
  • This is a free museum with a wonderful collection of shells and fascinating exhibits. Not limited to the Gulf of Mexico, the large shell collection has featured exhibits along with dozens of drawers full of additional specimens. They have butterflies, fossils, minerals, mammals, birds, and other artifacts as well. There are numerous kids activities. Everything is pretty self-guided and very relaxed. The gift shop is small but has some very cool stuff that is VERY affordable. They do not take credit cards, so bring some cash. Also on display when we visited were some of the greatest dioramas I have seen. Pair this with a trip to see live critters at Sea Center Texas and you have a really fun (FREE) day!
  • Free, free parking, awesome volunteers, and interesting things to see!
